THE AQUILA WARRIOR PROJECT

5+ YEARS IN THE MAKING

As Arthur's life has taken countless turns over the years, so too has the Aquila Warrior Project. Our team is made up of various creative professionals and storytellers. We have joined the project at various points along its development, each one of us captured by the complexities and uniqueness we find in the story, the character, and the connected settings.

The story is mixed modes of documentary storytelling and multiple media formats, namely expository, participatory/observatory, and reenactment.

DIRECTOR'S STATEMENT

This is more than about acceptance and the power of belief and the pursuit of happiness. Arthur’s conflict with drugs, recovery and faith resonate with me. A year before I met Arthur, I lost my father as a casualty to the opiate epidemic in America. I grew up Mormon, rebuked religion as an Agnostic in college, and now consider myself a Christian-Taoist constantly being okay with wrestling with faith and fate.

Everyone that has become a part of the story in front of and behind the camera have had to struggle with faith and happiness -- this story is a personal journey that all of us must live.
